Main problem : I can't use see the bootcamp screen to pick which drive to bootfrom aka open windows. I tried to do it by memory and it still wouldn't load.. Curious if anyone knows how to get that screen back. also here's my specs etc. if that helps:
In my earlier article on the MSI HD 6870 Video Card I confirm that the ATI Radeon HD 6870 Video Card works in an early 2008 Mac Pro and how to install it. Upgrading to Mountain Lion appears to have no effect on the way the graphics card interacts with the Mac’s OS. I was able to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion with the card in the computer. Hi All! I am an audio guy so graphics and monitors/resolution are concepts I don't think about too often so I need a little help ;-)
My old build (2012) has an XFX Radeon HD 6870 graphics card. My even older monitor (2005 Apple Cinema Display) is getting very dark with time and I would like to replace it with a 4K monitor.
Will this work? I know the XFX Radeon HD 6870 has a lower resolution (max 2560 x 1600 with HDMI 1.4a) than the Samsung U28E590D 28-Inch 4K monitor I want (3840 x 2160).
Does this simply mean that I will have less resolution if I use this combo? Or does it mean the monitor won't work at all?
Less resolution is ok with me as I plan to use the monitor (eventually) with my next build and 4K compatible card. I just don't want it to look like total crap while still using it with the older build.
ALL ADVICE WELCOME!
Thank!
